Question: Is Private School expenses tax deductible?

Answer:  As a general rule, private school expenses for children attending kindergarten through 12th grade are NOT deductible.  The reason being is that the United States offers education through high school.  The choice between public and private is your choice and not a necessity.

If your children has a condition that requires special needs schools, then the tuition is deductible.  The deductible is not actually a tuition deductible but a medical deductible.  It deductible through itemized deduction on Section A form.

For colleges and universities, IRS does allow tuition expenses to be tax-deductible and offers valuable tax credits for certain taxpayers.
